You’re Really Good at Taking Care of People
You notice what everyone needs. You remember the little things. You anticipate problems. You smooth things over.
You say yes. Even when you really, really want to say no.
You’re good at being responsible. Thoughtful. Considerate. Successful. Reliable. You know how to show up. You know how to get things done. You know how to make everyone else comfortable.
And you are very, very tired.
Because somewhere along the way, being a good person became a full-time job.

What If You Stopped Trying So Hard to Be Good?
Don’t be too loud.
Don’t be too needy.
Don’t disappoint anyone.
Don’t make the wrong choice.
Don’t let anyone be mad at you.
Don’t be selfish.
Be understanding.
Be helpful.
Be easy.
Be good.
No wonder you’re exhausted.
Your life looks perfectly fine on paper. And somehow it isn’t all that much fun.
You can be wildly accomplished and have no idea what you enjoy.
You can know exactly what everyone else wants for dinner and have no idea what you want to do on Saturday.

You Don’t Need Another Self-Improvement Project
Therapy isn’t about turning you into a better version of yourself. You don’t need another list of things to fix.
You don’t need to optimize your morning routine, regulate your nervous system perfectly, set boundaries flawlessly, or finally become the person who has it all together.
Enough.
What if the goal is simply to have more room to be yourself?
To have opinions.
Disappoint people.
Make mistakes.
Be ridiculous.
Laugh until you snort.
Want things simply because you want them.
You don’t have to be good at everything.
You don’t even have to care about being good.
Buy the Ridiculous Shoes
Maybe you don’t need another goal. Maybe you need a Saturday with nothing planned.
Dance in your kitchen. Say, “Nope. I don’t want to.”
Take the trip.
Call the friend who makes you laugh.
Leave the dishes.
Do something you’re terrible at. Stop turning every experience into an opportunity for personal growth.
We’ll still talk about the hard stuff.
The anxiety. The guilt. The perfectionism. The fear of disappointing people.
But we’ll also talk about what makes you laugh. What makes you feel alive. What you loved before you got so busy being responsible.
Because fun isn’t frivolous.
And you don’t have to earn it by first becoming a better person.

Imagine Your Life Feeling More Like Yours
Imagine knowing what you like.
Imagine making a decision because you want it.
Imagine being less interested in whether you’re doing life correctly.
Imagine having a life you don’t need to recover from.
Not a shinier version of you.
Not a more productive version.
Not a more agreeable version.
You.
